The Master Course: Freediving Beyond Limits
This advanced, immersive program is crafted to take your freediving skills and understanding to the next level. Structured as a hands-on internship, it spans a minimum of four weeks and is open to divers with at least a Wave 2 certification (or equivalent). By the end, you’ll be well on your path to truly becoming one with the water.
The course is designed to develop both your technical skills and theoretical knowledge. You’ll train across multiple disciplines including static apnea, dynamic apnea (with and without fins), constant weight (with and without fins), and free immersion. You’ll not only refine your technique in each area, but also build a solid foundation for long-term progress and safe diving with partners. We’ll also explore more advanced concepts like deep reverse packing, the mouthfill technique, and mastering the art of freefall.
Many participants choose to complete their Wave 3 certification during the Master Course. It offers a more comprehensive and in-depth approach than a typical Wave 3 course, which is often limited to just a few days. Our extended training period allows for the consistent practice and repetition necessary to internalize these complex skills.
As a Molchanovs Wave 3 Freediver, you’re already halfway to becoming an aquatic mammal. You’ll be diving comfortably to depths between 34 and 40 meters, executing correct form in all pool and depth disciplines, and gaining a deeper understanding of the mental and physiological aspects of freediving. We’ll also take a look at traditional freediving practices and how they evolved into the techniques we use today.
You’ll broaden your mental approach with tools like attention deconcentration—a unique mindset that enhances your deep dives. You’ll work on advanced equalization techniques that combine the Frenzel maneuver with either mouthfill or reverse packing. Through targeted drills and coaching, you’ll gradually master both. You’ll also simulate depth using FRC (Functional Residual Capacity) dives and learn how to avoid depth-related injuries. We’ll teach you when and how to apply packing, reverse packing, and flexibility training—always emphasizing safety and body awareness.
You’ll train multiple times per week alongside experienced coaches and fellow Master students. Beyond the water, the course cultivates a sense of community—sharing meals, training stories, and exploring local dive sites like reefs and shipwrecks. Spearfishing trips, beach barbecues, and plenty of relaxed moments at our seaside base are all part of the experience.
For those who advance quickly, there’s even the opportunity to assist in other courses—helping with buoy setup and dive management. This is completely optional and can provide valuable insight for those considering becoming instructors in the future.
